DENEYİM
ODAKLI TASARIM

Who is Enes Can Erkoca?

Enes Can Erkoca is an Industrial Designer based in Istanbul, Türkiye, specialising in sustainable product design, circular economy, design innovation and user-centred product development. As an industrial design student at Istanbul Medipol University, he combines creativity, engineering thinking and environmental responsibility to develop products and systems that respond to contemporary social, environmental and technological challenges.

His design philosophy is built on the belief that industrial design is not only about creating aesthetically pleasing products, but also about designing meaningful experiences, improving production systems and contributing to a more sustainable future. Throughout his academic journey, Enes has focused on integrating sustainability into every stage of the design process, from concept development and material selection to manufacturing and product lifecycle.

Growing up with a passion for creativity, technology and problem-solving, Enes developed an early interest in product design and manufacturing. This interest gradually evolved into a professional ambition to become an industrial designer capable of creating products that balance functionality, aesthetics and environmental responsibility. Today, he continues to improve his skills in digital modelling, product visualisation, manufacturing technologies and sustainable innovation.

His technical expertise includes Rhinoceros 3D, KeyShot, Adobe Creative Suite, product rendering, design visualisation, rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing. He actively explores emerging technologies such as 3D printing, digital fabrication, Industry 5.0, AI-assisted design workflows and sustainable production systems to enhance the quality and impact of his projects.

One of Enes Can Erkoca's primary research interests is the circular economy and its application within industrial design. He believes that future products should minimise waste, maximise material efficiency and remain adaptable throughout their lifecycle. His projects frequently investigate recycled plastics, biomaterials, modular product systems and environmentally responsible manufacturing methods that support long-term sustainability.

Alongside his academic education, Enes works at SURKAM (Sustainable Development and Twin Transformation Research and Application Center) at Istanbul Medipol University. Through this role, he contributes to interdisciplinary initiatives focusing on sustainability, climate action, digital transformation, innovation and twin transformation. Working within SURKAM has strengthened his understanding of how industrial design can support global sustainability goals while encouraging collaboration between academia, industry and public institutions.

Enes has actively participated in numerous national and international conferences, workshops and design events. As an ETMK Student Representative, he has represented young industrial designers in professional environments and contributed to discussions about the future of design education and the evolving role of industrial designers in society.

Among these experiences, participating as a panelist at World Industrial Design Day organised by ETMK and Bilişim Vadisi was particularly meaningful. During the "Design and Resilient Futures" panel, he shared his perspective on resilience in industrial design, discussing how designers should respond to rapidly changing environmental, technological and social conditions through sustainable innovation and systems thinking.

He also attended Zero Waste Forum 2026, where he explored topics including circular economy, climate diplomacy, youth participation, environmental responsibility and sustainable development alongside international experts, public institutions and climate ambassadors. These experiences have reinforced his commitment to creating products that contribute positively to society while respecting environmental limits.

Enes is equally interested in advanced manufacturing processes and product engineering. His work explores injection moulding, additive manufacturing, sustainable materials, product optimisation and production-oriented design. By understanding both creative and technical aspects of product development, he aims to bridge the gap between conceptual thinking and industrial production.

His portfolio includes product design concepts, sustainable furniture, consumer products, exhibition projects, research-based design studies and digital visualisation work. Every project follows a structured design process involving research, user analysis, concept generation, prototyping, testing and refinement. This systematic approach enables him to create products that are both innovative and feasible for real-world manufacturing.

Looking ahead, Enes aims to collaborate with international design studios, manufacturing companies and research institutions working in sustainable product development, industrial innovation and circular design. His long-term vision is to contribute to products and systems that improve people's lives while supporting environmental responsibility and sustainable economic growth.

As an Industrial Designer in Istanbul, Türkiye, Enes Can Erkoca continues to develop his professional portfolio through research, product development, conferences, exhibitions and interdisciplinary collaborations. Driven by curiosity, creativity and sustainability, he is committed to designing products that create positive social, environmental and economic impact while representing the next generation of industrial designers.
