The Biomaterial Meeting at Özyeğin University provided me with the opportunity to explore the future of sustainable materials and exchange ideas with researchers, designers and industry professionals. Held at Özyeğin University, the meeting brought together academics, students and innovators to discuss biomaterials, circular design, material innovation and responsible production for a more sustainable future.Throughout the event, I engaged with experts and participants, explored emerging bio-based materials and gained valuable insights into how material selection can shape environmental performance, product development and long-term sustainability. The experience reinforced my belief that industrial design begins with the materials we choose. Innovative biomaterials have the potential to transform manufacturing processes while supporting circular economy principles and reducing environmental impact. The Biomaterial Meeting became an inspiring platform for learning, collaboration and knowledge exchange, and the perspectives I gained will continue to influence my approach to sustainable, material-driven industrial design.

Zero Waste Forum 2026 offered me the opportunity to explore sustainability from a broader perspective and exchange ideas with professionals from different disciplines.Held at Istanbul Atatürk Airport on 5–6 June 2026, the forum brought together public institutions, academics, young people, civil society representatives and international speakers. I attended alongside Türkiye’s Climate Ambassadors and followed discussions on zero waste, circular economy, climate diplomacy and youth participation in climate action.

Throughout the event, I engaged with speakers and institutional representatives, shared my sustainability-focused design approach and gained new perspectives on the relationship between design, environmental responsibility and social impact.

The experience reinforced my belief that industrial design extends beyond product development. It can influence resource use, production systems and everyday behaviours, creating more resilient and responsible solutions.

Zero Waste Forum 2026 became an important space for learning, exchange and future collaboration, and the ideas I gained will continue to shape my work in sustainable design.

I see design as a responsibility to people, resources and the places we share. My work supports mindful production, longer product lives and stronger links between materials, users and the everyday experiences shaped through use each day.
